About Toastmasters International and Voice of Wales  
 
 
Toastmasters International was established in 1924 and has grown to become a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. The non-profit organization now has nearly 235,000 members in 11,700 clubs in 92 countries, offering a proven – and enjoyable! – way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills. Voice of Wales is the first Toastmasters club in Wales, and currently the only one. Established in 2007 by Jan Collings, DTM, the club has grown from strength to strength and now boasts approximately 25 members. We are in Area 22, Division E  of District 71 (i.e. UK and Ireland).
 
 
Why Join Toastmasters?
There are many reasons why people join Toastmasters, such as:

  • To meet new people and build friendships

Although every club has the same structure, each club offers a different environment and atmosphere. Voice of Wales offers a relaxed and friendly environment, allowing everyone to feel at home straight away.  Our committee are committed to making the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone and we are always looking for new ways to improve our club. We are the first club to be chartered in Wales and we are hugely proud of that achievement.

It is basic to this mission that Toastmasters International continually expand its worldwide network of clubs, thereby offering ever-greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from its programs.

The Mission of the Club
The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
