Q: What can I expect at a Voice of Wales club night? A: It can be quite daunting going to your first Toastmasters meeting. However, there is no need to worry, Voice of Wales is a great club offering a supportive environment to hone your skills. Check out a Typical Agenda and find out more about the roles members take at every meeting.
Q: Does it cost anything to find out more? A: Absolutely not. We welcome guests with open arms and invite you to come along to find out if Toastmasters is for you. Our meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Feel free to contact us to find out further details, or just turn up at the Sessions House in Usk on a meeting night.
Q: If I find I love it, how much does it cost to join? A: The Toastmasters membership pack containing the relevant manuals costs £25. This is a one off fee. Club fees are £39 half yearly. They are due at the end of March and end of September, and are paid pro-rata.
Q: How does Toastmasters help develop my skills?
A: Toastmasters is very structured and offers a great educational programme. Whether you are serious about developing your skills, or simply want to build your confidence a bit, the structure of the educational track will mean you get to try a number of different experiences and work towards certificates that demonstrate your development. Q: I am an employer, how would Voice of Wales help improve my employees' skills? A: If you want your employees to become better communicators, presenters and leaders then send them along to Voice of Wales. We provide a forum for people to practice, not only their speaking skills, but also their time management, motivating abilites, listening skills and organisation. Have a look at the Toastmasters educational programme for more details.
Q: Who is Toastmasters for? A: Anyone. Really, anyone! Whether you want to start speaking without glowing red or stuttering, or become a professional speaker, we provide the perfect environment for you to develop. If you want to meet great people and build relationships then come along, although you must note we are not a networking group. We welcome all abilities, so come along and give us a try.
